NPDES PERMIT

The AVMA Wastewater Treatment Plant operates under a “National Pollutant Discharge Permit” (NPDES) No. PA0026646 issued by the US EPA and PA DEP.

The NPDES permit regulates the discharge of treated wastewater to the stream and sets the water quality standards that must be maintained as follows:

Routine sampling and laboratory analisis is performed at the plant and by commercial laboratories and monthly reports are submitted to PA DEP as required.

An Annual Chapter 94 Wasteload Management Report is prepared and submitted to PADEP that reviews the past five years of flows and Organic Loading to the WWTP and projects ahead for the ensuing five years.
